NxTAG® Respiratory Pathogen Panel

Detect 20 respiratory pathogens in a single well, enabling thorough respiratory health analysis

Simplify your syndromic diagnostic testing with pre-plated, lyophilized reagents to facilitate a simple workflow with just one pipetting step, ensuring an easy fit in any lab’s daily routine.

Disease state

Respiratory tract infections involve a wide variety of etiologic agents, and present with overlapping signs and symptoms. Prediction of the causative organism based on clinical findings alone is not reliable. The most frequent agents responsible for respiratory infections are respiratory viruses, and then bacteria.  Ensuring accurate detection of causitave agents especially in high risk individuals, critically ill patients  or to reflexing to determine unknown causes in ongoing sick individuals negative by targeted tests is key for appropriate patient managment and or isolation.  Panel testing is also highly valuable in determining  respiratory pathogen outbreaks outside winter seasons.

Acute respiratory infection (ARI) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide

The value of NxTAG® Respiratory Pathogen Panel

Empower laboratories with a cost effective, highly scalable syndromic respiratory panel

Clinical impact

Guide timely and appropriate treatment decisions for inpatients and high-risk patients, as well as co-infections and fluctuating etiological agents.

Outstanding economic value

Inexpensive reagents within a closed tube system reduce total workflow costs and minimize contamination.

Flexible format

A 96-well plate with breakaway wells saves valuable laboratory work and storage space and allows the flexibility to easily process 8 to 96 tests.

How the NxTAG® Respiratory Pathogen Panel Test works

NxTAG® Respiratory Pathogen Panel is a multiplexed in vitro diagnostic test for the detection and identification of respiratory disease causing viruses and bacterial.  Results are produced for 24 extracted DNA samples in less than 3 hours with only a single pipetting step.

01

Add sample

Add 1-96 extracted samples to the pre-plated, lyophilized test reagents.

02

Run test

Integrated multiplex PCR and bead hybridization.

03

Generate results

Read on the NxTAG®-Enabled MAGPIX® System.

Indications for NxTAG® Respiratory Pathogen Panel use

For use with the MAGPIX® System

The NxTAG® Respiratory Pathogen Panel workflow, considered high complexity in the US, requires a sample extraction system, RT-PCR capable thermal cycler and the MAGPIX® instrument to sort and read the hybrized, tagged microspheres.
