Objectives

The identification of ESG material topics relevant to Diasorin is guiding the implementation and management of the 2023-2025 ESG plan, and will help the Group track progress in the field of three-factor sustainability over time.

Diasorin’s 2023-2025 ESG strategy involves top management in the creation of a Steering Committee, which will be directly responsible for approving the ESG objectives and for prioritizing relevant issues.

The Plan is aimed at coordinating and aligning the Group towards shared objectives to improve its social and environmental impact, and to formally commit to the principles of transparency and integrity.

Reduction of environmental impact and definition of a Group climate strategy

Diasorin is committed to promoting initiatives that contribute to the challenge of climate change, to relying more on renewable energy sources, and to gradually decarbonizing the Group’s activities.

In 2023, a project to install photovoltaic panels at the Group’s headquarters has been launched, which will reduce our environmental impact by more than 500 tons of CO2 equivalent per year and will generate more than 1 GWh each year in solar energy.

Improvement in the Group’s energy efficiency

In 2023, the Group has committed itself to a series of projects, such as the replacement of LED lights and the implementation of automatic shutdown systems in order to improve Diasorin’s energy efficiency in Europe. These projects are due to be extended internationally in the coming years.

2025

Strengthening of the Group Management, Health, Safety and Environment System through international certifications ISO 14001 and ISO 45001

In 2023, Diasorin started a UNI EN ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System) and UNI EN ISO 45001:2018 (occupational health and safety management system) certification process for the production plant at the Group’s headquarters.
Starting from 2024, the Group undertakes to verify the extensibility of this Group Management, Health, Safety and Environment System to its US plants.

Formalization of the principles of Group meritocracy that favor the promotion of talents without discrimination in terms of gender, status, race or religion

One of the Group’s objectives is to define and formalize the meritocratic principles that guide Diasorin’s current culture and values in order to promote the development and attraction of new talent, without discrimination of any kind.

Implementation of a Group Engagement Survey

The Group’s ESG Plan provides for the definition of a template for an engagement survey, to be sent to all employees on a recurring basis from 2025 onwards.

Allocation of up to €1.5 m per year to social responsibility interventions

Diasorin has long been involved in promoting initiatives for social sustainability. In 2020, Diasorin decided to found the Fondazione Diasorin, providing €1 million per year to fund its work. From 2024, Diasorin aims to dedicate up to €1.5 million to social sustainability projects in line with the sustainability pillars defined at Corporate level and with the concrete activities undertaken by the Fondazione Diasorin.

Implementation of a Group Sustainability Policy

Since 2023, the Group has been implementing a Group sustainability policy in order to define at organizational level Diasorin’s priorities and areas of commitment towards its internal and external stakeholders. The Sustainability Policy will also support the process of defining strategic choices regarding sustainability, managing and mitigating ESG risks, and will provide an operational structure for the plan at Group level.

Definition of ESG Governance

In early 2023, Diasorin created a new corporate ESG function of reference and an ESG Steering Committee, directly responsible for the implementation and development of the Group’s ESG strategy.

Dissemination of the culture and understanding of sustainability and ESG issues to all Group employees

Diasorin has decided to promote the ESG program around the Group by encouraging all employees to further their understanding and to take a practical approach to sustainability issues.

Assignment of an ESG-related compensation target to strategic executives

Diasorin ensures the proper implementation of the Group’s ESG objectives by assigning a variable objective (MBO) linked to the ESG program to strategic managers and the ESG plan manager.
